Castle Square Redevelopment
Located on Tremont Street in Boston’s South End, Castle Square Apartments, originally constructed in the 1960s, is a 540,000 sq. ft., mixed-use property consisting of affordable residences and retail space.
Sunrise teamed up with CWC Builders and Elton + Hampton Architects on this major renovation — a project that was able to preserve 500 units of affordable housing for current and future working families of Boston. The property consists of four mid-rise buildings and 19 townhouses containing one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments.
As part of the renovation, the development underwent a deep energy retrofit and was awarded LEED Platinum Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Sunrise’s scope of work included the complete exterior panel system, AVB, window/door removal and replacement, and caulking.
