Work progressing at 100 Chestnut

The Sunrise team has been making great progress in Somerville at the 100 Chestnut project site!

The field crew has been hard at work on multiple scope items, including installation of curtainwall covers, ES Windows pre-glazed punched windows, and unitized standing seam zinc panels.

Airolite sunshade installation will be starting on the West elevation soon, as well as retail curtainwall frames with laminated glass canopies. We are also gearing up for the installation of Kingspan Global insulated metal panels.

Also pictured is one of our rockstar laborers, Luis Brenes, with our 85-foot boom, “Virginia,” and our Lull 1044, “Moose.”

The full scope for this 200,000SF, LEED Platinum-certified laboratory and office building includes the entire building envelope. Located just minutes from Kendall Square, the new building will be a best-in-class facility in the reimagined Brickbottom District where scientific innovation meets wellness.

Women in Construction: Field Team

To close out women in construction week we wanted to give a special shout out to the amazing women of our field team!

Representing the team are a group of incredibly skilled tradeswomen who play a huge role in the success of our day to day projects: ironworker Kim Healy, glazier Shana Anderson, carpenter Kelly Juarez, glazier Ianary Ferreira, carpenter Eryn Sullivan, carpenter Genevieve Rodriguez, carpenter Cate Levin and ironworker Sarah Brasil.
