Mike Mottau
Business Development
Sunrise is ecstatic to have former professional ice hockey defenseman Mike Mottau as part of the team! A four-year standout at Boston College, Mike was the recipient of the Hobey Baker Award as the top men’s collegiate hockey player during his senior season. He made his National Hockey League debut with the New York Rangers during the 2000-01 season and also had stints with the Calgary Flames, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, and Boston Bruins throughout his 14-year professional career. Mike announced his retirement from professional hockey in 2014 and joined Team Sunrise in 2018 after working in sales. His role for Sunrise is to be in front of upcoming projects by cultivating new relationships as well as deepening existing relationships with general contractors and developers. Mike works closely with the estimators/project managers throughout the bid process and acts as a vertical resource between PM, foremen, labor field and shop fabrication during active Sunrise projects.
