Located in the heart of Kendall Square, this 380,000 sq. ft. life sciences complex was completed in 2015 utilizing a fully integrated design-assist approach. The project consists of two separate buildings, each topped with a two-story mechanical penthouse and connected by a five-story entrance atrium, with a 400-car below-grade parking garage.
Sunrise’s scope included the entire exterior façade. Sunrise engineers and project managers participated in on-site colocation for the better part of a year during the design development phase, and the shop drawings that SEI produced were incorporated into the architect’s set and ultimately became part of the final construction documents.
The product scope included custom ultra-high performance concrete panels, aluminum composite panels, column covers, phenolic panels, insulated metal panels, louvers, air and vapor barrier, thermally broken exterior framing system, insulation, aluminum curtainwall, aluminum storefront and entrances, glass railings, custom point supported steel and glass suspension system and skylight, and all interior glass and glazing.
