Gillette Stadium

Team Sunrise is ecstatic to say that our team was a part of the reconstruction of Gillette Stadium.

This project consists of the construction of dramatic improvements to the stadium since its opening in 2002. Upon completion, the home of the New England Patriots features a completely reimagined plaza leading into the stadium, including a new and enhanced lighthouse.

Inside the stadium, you can find a  new HD video board as well as new and improved concession locations and other fan amenities.

The scope of work for Team Sunrise includes the renovation on the north end enclosure of the stadium. Pictured here you will see the installation of pre-glazed EFCO curtainwall units, which are 100 percent pre-fabricated at our Mansfield fabrication facility.

Bentley University Arena

Located on Bentley University’s South Campus in Waltham, the new Bentley Arena is home to the NCAA Division 1 Bentley Falcons’ ice hockey team. The 75,000 sq. ft. facility, designed by Architectural Resources Cambridge (ARC), features approximately 2,000 fixed seats and also serves as a venue for large-scale events, including seminars, concerts, and guest speakers.

The LEED Platinum-certified facility features a glass-walled function room; state-of-the-art locker rooms, equipment rooms, weight rooms and a sports medicine center; a student-run media control room; and an outdoor plaza.

Sunrise’s scope of work included installation of ACM panels, curtainwall, glazing and perforated sunshade.

BU Booth Theatre

Sunrise was honored to play a role in the completion of this exciting addition to the Boston University campus — the Joan & Edgar Booth Theatre and College of Fine Arts Production Center.

We teamed up with BOND Brothers, Inc. and Elkus Manfredi Architects in a design-assist format with the goal of bringing the conceptual design to reality. In the months leading up to the project, Sunrise assisted Elkus and Bond by providing all of the exterior facade details, and ultimately collaborated on the final design of the building — a process that resulted in a beautiful new center for the students of Boston University!

The award-winning entrance design features a custom structural point supported glass wall system with laminated glass fin supports installed at a 14-degree tilt — a challenging install flawlessly executed by our crew!

Project scope included: aluminum curtainwall, aluminum storefront, aluminum entrances and hardware, custom all-glass suspension system, corrugated metal panels, composite metal panels, Ipe siding, custom Ipe louvers, Kalwall, air and vapor barrier, exterior framing and insulation, and UHPC exoskeleton.

Materials provided by Sentech Architectural Systems, LLC, Tecnoglass, CENTRIA, Arconic Architectural Products, General Woodcraft, Inc., Kalwall Corporation, Kenseal Construction Products, Airolite, Roxul Inc. and YKK.

UMass Amherst Training Facility & Press Box

Designed by Perkins+Will, UMass Amherst’s new Football Performance Center and Press Box were formally dedicated as part of the university’s homecoming festivities in 2014.

The 55,000 sq. ft., two-story performance center houses all of the support elements for UMass football, including offices and meeting rooms, locker rooms, and strength and conditioning space. The 5,800 sq. ft. press box has suites for game day use, broadcast rooms for radio and TV, and dedicated instant replay for officials.

For the performance center, Sunrise’s scope included radius zinc patina soffit and fascia ACM rainscreen panels. Sunrise also installed zinc patina ACM wall panels and exposed fastener corrugated/perforated single skin panels at the staircase leading to the press box and the entire soffit/ceiling of the press box.
