Sunrise has recently begun work on this $75 million, 650,000-square-foot new transportation center in South Boston. The development will have nine levels, approximately 1,500 parking spaces, and will be located partially over the existing I-90 tunnel structure built by the Central Artery and Tunnel Project. The project will incorporate sustainable and resilient design elements. Sunrise’s scope includes the furnish and install of louver fins, curtain wall, storefront, doors, glazing, CW louvers, and ACM. This project is particularly unique due to the louver fins — there will be 678 of them installed — each engineered with threaded rods and yokes to stabilize against harsh winds and tied back to the building with knife plates and T brackets. The fins are supplied by Metalwerks.
