Sunrise completed work on this $75 million, 650,000-square-foot new South Boston waterfront transportation center in 2018. The development has nine levels, approximately 1,500 parking spaces, and is located partially over the existing I-90 tunnel structure built by the Central Artery and Tunnel Project. The project incorporated sustainable and resilient design elements. Sunrise’s scope included the furnish and install of: louver fins, curtain wall, storefront, doors, glazing, CW louvers, and ACM. This project was particularly unique due to the louver fins — there were 678 of them installed — each engineered with threaded rods and yokes to stabilize against harsh winds and tied back to the building with knife plates and T brackets.
