Completed in 2016, this partial one- and two-story, 47,180-square-foot facility in Hopkinton functions as the new home of the Mass. Department of Transportation’s Central Research and Materials Testing Laboratory, replacing the original laboratory in South Boston. The primary function of the facility is to perform sampling and testing of materials used on highway and bridge projects. The facility also contains storage rooms, training and conference rooms, and various mechanical rooms. Sunrise’s scope included work on the façade, panel install, and storefront.
