This 75,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art multi-functional studio theater and production facility was completed in the winter of 2018. The new construction included a multi-functional studio theatre with a seating capacity of up to 250; production and support facilities; faculty offices and studios; a two-level subsurface parking garage containing 290 parking spaces; and a landscaped plaza fronting Commonwealth Avenue.
Sunrise was contracted on this project from the initial design-assist phase and played a large part in bringing the conceptual design to reality. Sunrise assisted architect Elkus Manfredi by providing all of the exterior façade details, which were later worked into the 100 percent construction documents. Ultimately, through a successful collaboration with Bond Brothers and Elkus Manfredi, Sunrise was able to assist in decreasing the overall façade budget of the project. Sunrise’s complete scope included aluminum curtainwall, aluminum storefront, aluminum entrances and hardware, custom all glass suspension system, corrugated metal panels, composite metal panels, ipe siding, custom ipe louvers, Kalwall, air and vapor barrier, exterior framing and insulation, and UHPC exoskeleton.
