Progress at One Congress St.

Check out this cool project we are doing over at One Congress Street in the city — the HQ for State Street Corp!

The majority of our scope involves the roof pavilion (pictured below). Here you can see the unique detailing of the custom-engineered Sentech glass wall that our field team installed.

The next step is to begin installation of aluminum plate panels, provided by ES METALS, which will create a segmented soffit at the head of the Sentech wall following the same radius as the glass.

Cool stuff!

Visit from the Easter Bunny!

We had a special visitor at our Canton HQ today!

Thanks to the Easter Bunny for taking the time out of her busy schedule to join in on our annual egg hunt with the kiddos!

What a great day! Lots of smiles — though a few were a bit unsure of the famous bunny.

We wish all who are celebrating a very happy Easter weekend!

New mock-up for Steward Norwood Hospital

Check out our latest mockup for the upcoming Steward Norwood Hospital project!

This is a glass mock-up that includes 6 different glass makeups (3 clear vision, 3 spandrel), supplied by Viracon. Shoutout to shop foreman Warren Columbus, glazier foreman Joe Donovan, and carpenter journeyman Greg Belikov for putting this together!

At Sunrise, we pride ourselves on our ability to design, develop and build full-scale mockups under our very own roof. Early mockup development has become a vital part of the design-assist process and services that we offer.

In the next phase of the design-assist process, we will be creating a full scale curtainwall system mockup.

The field team is set to be on site this upcoming summer with a scope of work that includes the entire exterior facade. This will be the first newly constructed hospital in the area in over 25 years and will be constructed on the existing hospital footprint.

The project team is led by Jack Sherman (project exec.), Luke Cowper (PM), John Dauphin (asst. PM), Pouya Miryousefi (engineer), and Ted Rogers (engineer).

Check back for more project updates!

Work progressing at 100 Chestnut

The Sunrise team has been making great progress in Somerville at the 100 Chestnut project site!

The field crew has been hard at work on multiple scope items, including installation of curtainwall covers, ES Windows pre-glazed punched windows, and unitized standing seam zinc panels.

Airolite sunshade installation will be starting on the West elevation soon, as well as retail curtainwall frames with laminated glass canopies. We are also gearing up for the installation of Kingspan Global insulated metal panels.

Also pictured is one of our rockstar laborers, Luis Brenes, with our 85-foot boom, “Virginia,” and our Lull 1044, “Moose.”

The full scope for this 200,000SF, LEED Platinum-certified laboratory and office building includes the entire building envelope. Located just minutes from Kendall Square, the new building will be a best-in-class facility in the reimagined Brickbottom District where scientific innovation meets wellness.

Follow along as we watch this project come to life!
