UMass Lowell University Suites – Completed in 2013
GC: Walsh Brothers
Architect: ADD Inc.

Sunrise’s scope included the furnish and install of multicolored Reynobond composite metal panels (rainscreen system) – coming in 7, 3-coat, custom colors; and Morin concealed fastener panels. What a color palette!

This 148,000 SF, five-story University Residence Hall, located on Aiken Street, opened to students in 2013. The project was overseen by the UMass Building Authority and managed by Joslin, Lesser + Associates, Inc. of Watertown. The architect was ADD Inc and Walsh Brothers was the construction manager. The building was constructed in part with recycled materials, with the goal of maximum energy efficiency. The suites are home to 472 students and represent a new housing model that includes: Eighty-eight four- and six-bed suites that feature living rooms, bedrooms, kitchenettes and bathrooms; common lounge areas with flat-screen TVs, couches and full kitchens; a glass-fronted living room with a fireplace; The Hawk’s Nest Café; conference rooms and study lounges; a multi-purpose room for groups of up to 126 people and a courtyard designed for public events.

One of our favorites!
